In a thrilling Group A encounter at the EuroCup tournament, Moldova delighted home fans with a remarkable comeback, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to draw a close match against Georgia.
In front of a full stadium, Georgia asserted their dominance after an even first half, as N. Dzalamidze and G. Qurdadze found the back of the net in the 26th and 35th minutes, respectively, giving Georgia a seemingly comfortable 2-0 lead.
However, Moldova refused to concede defeat and launched a spirited fightback. Their efforts were rewarded when P. Popescu scored in the 36th minute, igniting hope among the home fans. Moldova’s momentum continued just moments later, with G. Plonis leveling the score in the 37th minute, completing their remarkable turnaround.

Despite Moldova looking the most likely to score in the dying moments, solid defending and goalkeeping ensured that the scoreline remained unchanged until the final whistle.
The draw sees Moldova progress to the last 16 of the tournament as the third-place team in Group A, where they are set to face Italy in the knockout stages.
