Leisure Leagues are a national network of grassroots, community-based 5 and 6-a-side leagues, for players of all abilities, which take place in hundreds of towns and cities across the UK (and other countries) each night of the week on an all-year round basis. As the first network of its kind, Leisure Leagues pioneered and developed the match rules which are now commonplace within small-sided football and adopted by millions of players worldwide.
Each team enters the league via the Leisure Leagues website and during the course of a season will play each other team in the league twice. The team pays a weekly match fee, either to the referee at the league or in advance via the website, and Leisure Leagues arrange their opponent, the fixture time, the referee and the equipment.
At the end of the season a number of prizes are awarded, and the following week the next league begins with the same teams in place.
Leisure Leagues operate at over 500 third party venues in the UK including schools and universities, leisure centres and football clubs. A full size astroturf is hired for an allotted time each week and then divided into thirds or quarters, allowing multiple 6-a-side games to take place simultaneously.
As Leisure Leagues do not own the venues where they run they are able to keep their operational costs to a minimum.
Leisure Leagues are a preferred hirer for many venues as the all year round nature of their booking provides a steady income compared to other seasonal sports.
The typical demographic for players is males, aged 18-35, however all adults over 16 are able to enter.
Players of all fitness levels and abilities take part in the leagues and Leisure Leagues have been successful in meeting Government agendas for introducing the previously inactive into sport.
Players are attracted to 5 and 6-a-side football because the short games fit easily into their lifestyle, it is affordable and you do not need to be a skilled player to take part. By joining Leisure Leagues, players are offered a professional set-up, stringent discipline policies (to eliminate instances of foul play) and superior prizes, plus the chance to be scouted for the national 6-a-side team.

Leisure Leagues Website
The Leisure Leagues website is the industry leading league management system for operating small-sided football leagues. It’s unique, automated functionality and specialist features make light work of organising leagues, and the site has been recognised by the UK government as an ‘invention’ due to its enhanced capabilities.
Leisure Leagues have spent 7 years developing the website at a cost of €3 million, and continue to invest €250,000 a year into the site’s development to ensure that it remains cutting edge, and to continue improving the user experience for both teams playing in the league and for league organisers alike.
